ONLINE TRAINING and CERTIFICATION
Unlike (Armed) security guards in Georgia, Unarmed security guards are not required to be licensed to provide his or her services. However, there are some basic requirements that must be met. These include being the proper age (21 years of age), as well as being lawfully employable (a United States citizen, or a qualified alien under the Federal Immigration & Naturalization Act and lawfully present in the United States).
Although Unarmed security guards are not required to be registered with the State Licensing Board, they ARE required to be properly trained and "Certified" under a board-certified instructor according to the standards adopted by the Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies. Whether Armed or Unarmed the requirements include a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours of classroom instruction covering the following topics:
24 HR STATE MANDATED SECURITY GUARD COURSE
This course meets and exceeds the Georgia 24 Hour State Mandated Security Guard Course.
(Taught in accordance with GA Code 509-3-02, by State Certified Instructor).
Course Requirements:

Criminal Background Check from Local Police Department
-
Clean Record with No Convictions (No Exceptions)
-
State Issued Driver’s License
-
Military DD Form-214 or prior Security Training (if available)
-
Must be 21 years of age

*NEVER WORK AS A SECURITY OFFICER ARMED OR UNARMED WITHOUT BEING
PROPERLY TRAINED BY A STATE CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR AND LEGALLY CERTIFIED
AND LICENSED.YOU CAN GO TO JAIL AND BE FINED!
